License
required for medical discount plan organizations
Medical discount plan organizations must be licensed by the Department
of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) beginning July 1, 2008. House
Bill 2221, approved by the 2007 Legislature, establishes the licensing
program and provides protections for consumers.
Some
adults will lose FHIAP subsidy after May 31, 2008
About 4,300 adults will lose their subsidy from the Family Health
Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP) after May 31, 2008. FHIAP is
notifying people who are losing the subsidy and explaining their options
for continuing health insurance coverage. More information on the
changes
in the program is available on FHIAP's Web site.
