Oregon Insurance Division Bulletin INS 2009-7

RE: Withdrawal of Filing Procedures for Life Insurance and Annuity Advertisements

This bulletin withdraws bulletins INS 2009-6.

Purpose:

The Oregon Insurance Division made the decision that filing instructions for life and annuity advertisements do not warrant a bulletin. The withdrawal of bulletin 2009-6 will resolve any conflicting information between the bulletin and the Transmittal and Product Standards for Life and Annuity Advertisements.

Authority:

The Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) may require a filing by an insurer of any producer materials for any life insurance or annuities sales presentation material for use in the sale, or the presentation for sale, of any life insurance or annuity product. ORS 742.009.

Life insurance includes annuities as defined in ORS 731.154, except when the inclusion of annuities is obviously inapplicable, the context requires otherwise, or the Insurance Code provides otherwise. ORS 731.170.

This bulletin takes effect immediately.
