DCBS Media ReleaseAugust 15, 2001 Meeting on health plans' proposed affiliation canceled(Portland) A joint public informational meeting regarding the proposed affiliation of The Regence Group (TRG) with Chicago-based Health Care Service Corporation has been canceled. Oregon and Washington insurance regulators had scheduled the August 21 meeting in Portland to give the public an opportunity to comment on the proposal. However, the companies announced today that they have decided not to pursue the affiliation. Members of The Regence Group include Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and Regence BlueShield in Washington, plus health plans in Idaho and Utah. |
